Lion Dance
The lion dance originated from the lion dance performed in the imperial court of the Tang Dynasty. In folklore, the awakened lion opens its eyes to drive away evil spirits, dispel bad luck in the home, ward off sharp-angled bad luck, and protect the home from harm. The two lions stand on a hydrangea, which symbolizes a ball of wealth, implying financial turnover, rolling in wealth, continuous business and customer sources, and steady increase in both regular and irregular income. Lion dances have been used since ancient times for festivals, business openings, weddings, and blessings, symbolizing good fortune, overcoming difficulties, smooth progress in all matters, and continuous happy events.
Intangible Cultural Heritage Copper Coloring and Burnishing Craftsmanship
After fine polishing the surface of the copper ornaments, the craftsman will control the temperature, heating duration, and reagent ratio to form a dense oxide film on the copper surface at high temperatures, thus presenting a rich layered color change. This layer of color is not a coating attached to the surface, but the natural texture formed by copper itself through high-temperature oxidation. Unlike ordinary spray painting, each high-temperature reaction of copper coloring is unique.
Colorful Hand Painting
It is a traditional intangible cultural heritage surface craft on copper ornaments, which endows the cold metal with a vivid charm. Yan Cai originates from traditional Chinese mineral pigments, which are made by grinding natural minerals and plant pigments into powder and mixing them with natural animal glue. When it is used to hand-paint on copper pieces, each stroke requires the craftsman to manually blend and outline, without mechanical replication, so each piece is unique.
